Search Tips
The portal search function utilizes Boolean Operators — special words or symbols that expand or narrow search parameters.

| OR | Returns results containing at least one keyword | Water OR Air |
| NOT | Excludes specific terms from results | Water NOT Sea |
| Quotation marks "" | Finds exact phrases or precise keywords | "Water Quality Objectives" |
| Parentheses () | Groups terms and controls search order | Quality AND (water OR air) |
| Asterisk * | Matches keyword variations (end of word only) | Financ* |
Important Notes
- All operators are case-sensitive and must be capitalized.
- The search function automatically includes some related words — for instance, searching "run" may retrieve results containing "running" and "runs".
- The asterisk wildcard only works when placed at the end of a word.
